White-tail Dawn
They walked the paths at dawn
Where hungry others had gone
Single file as they went
To the meadow for time well spent
And there in the morning time
They saw the meadow shine
With the snow piled up high
Covering all in white
It was a family affair
With aunts and uncles there
Until a trail led them away
On the icy winter day
And they returned to the woods
For some shelter and feeling good
With memories of the meadow
Always good for curious fellows
And on a trail quite worn
Went bucks that beautiful morn
Searching for a special doe
To accompany them in snow
