leaving myself

Delilah

i am leaving you

i am leaving a corpse where flowers once grew

and though i am sad to say

i know you have only loved decay

as the hour draws near

where i struggle to hear you clear

i will tell the moon to shine anew

to declare that your penance is due

and for my last act i will bleed

for it is not the air that i need

although this tree will remain fruitless

i rest in peace knowing my body is useless
