The Gathering Storm

gerrylegister

In the gathering storm, I vividly heard
The sound of my heart audible steps leaping,
Overwhelming scarcity stand to dare to guard
Virtues holding back the destitute forces waiting.

To heal the wounds that have been pierced
Searching for the light in the eerily dead of night,
Delusions of chagrin fury become the first choice
With bending slope charred smoke kicking the dust.

Burning plagues inside tries to hide on the surface,
But continual trouble invades like a swarm of bees,
Bedevil, vex and molest blacken by the lack of grace,
Hate the crush elect foes driven to their trembling knees.

Sky vex indignation behave irritably and cross
The din dross makes earth a dungeon of exasperation.
Behind the gusts unveils torrent of cantankerousness
That brings the windstorm sweeping majestically down.

Gold, silver, mementos and all precious things; we include
Misused and abused, stand ready to be taken away,
Leave vast swathes of empty places without spiritual food,
A display goes into decline before the beginning of the day.

Anger feasting on the charred pieces of humanity
The evil that is trying to redefine the mocking storm,
Gathering now in human hearts the kind of hostility
Which has turned the world into another dreaded form?

The tattoo of many withered cities stretches along
Upon grief-laden terrain opening and widening the line,
Chase and harass by the greater wrath in fiery demand
Growing stronger with fear of running out of time.

Men were fully armed to face the gathering storm
But lo, they hate the plight of intolerance towards truth,
And gave us the union of pleasure in wasteful charm
Where rituals couldn’t survive the clamor of death.

Power around the bend great speed on course to the end
Visible earth dirty all over again when dilemma reigns,
Nights without security in black shadow crawling behind
The supernatural hour raining with its heinous flames.

Nations will have no real home in a village globe
Torn at the seam’s spirits dare to scream at the intruder,
Withholding tears promise in the scroll tied with seal rope
Earthquake in many days makes every survivor a warrior.

Shades of veils hide the impenetrable walls of courage within,
And deprives victory to the unfathomable entities,
Denied exposure to vulnerabilities and embrace dreams reclaim,
The truth may internalize, but If we die fate will terminate the lies.

Let it bleed across the years cleanse with deliberate introspection
That wrath in which God used to critique our wicked ways,
The breath he takes will restore to earth a new generation,
To ignite the soul with the spirit in the divinity of brilliant displays.

Chronicles of the rich, the poor, the beggar and the forlorn
Have a part in the solar storm putting humanity on alert,
The cracks now appearing plastered over while we can
Recognized a metaphor in the atmospheric dearth.

See the streets without lights upon which you walk,
Roads that had houses on both sides grind to powder,
A whole part of society search for a sheltering ark
To find an identity and build again their fallen power.

But not even hope in our minds we no longer control
That place of retreat captivity has long taken hold,
Cold and sold, sore eyes sinking deeper into the soul
Only the grey nuclear clouds appearing we can behold.

If we pass through this century wildly laughing
We may see the gleam of angel’s mirth in glorious sunlight,
With friends in brilliant happy heaven joyfully waving
The scroll they unraveled with a million-sparkling light.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem means a lot to me because it is about the future nuclear age, something that is always at the front of my mind with the kind of leaders that we presently have in this world.
