‘DAD’

prettylittlepoet

Daddy, you broke my heart before any man could,

You did things that a father never should.

You broke my heart

and you pulled me apart.

You hurt my mother

and you threw her around without a bother.

You cheated and lied

And punched till she cried.

Until she decided she could no longer stay

And we all walked away.

We know that the decision was right

Cause I’m working hard for a future that’s bright

And I’ll do it without you ‘dad’

Cause I don’t need you all that bad

A good write on an all too familiar event. I suspect a bright future just around the corner.

  • Fay Slimm.

So sad this tragic happening when fathers abuse all those in the household - - many today have to cope with pasts where Dad is the culprit and their lives are in shreds. A meaningful write and thank you for sharing this heart-wrenching subject with the hard working intention to make a new future.

Thank you for taking the time to read it!

Very eloquent way to put a brute in his place. So sad for you but glad that you are moving forward. His loss. Pleased also that you could share. Not too long ago this was hidden and so allowed to continue. Best wishes.
