His Victory

Narcisa

He said I was beautiful

This I never took to heart

He promised he would be there

This was a lie from the start

Some company is better than none, yes that’s true

Just wish that company was anyone but you

But he said I was beautiful

I guess that was enough?

At a time I was losing myself

I didn’t care to call ones bluff

He was something to pass time

Yet I managed to be so blind

He said he loved me

It was hard not to laugh

He said he was serious

I didn’t need a polygraph

I saw past his lies

Yet I chose to be so unwise

It happened fast, skin to skin

No looking back

I let his poison in

Til this day I don’t know why

I knew what I did, there’s no reason to cry

Why?

Well,

He said I was beautiful
