The idea of me

DD.

We both fell in love with the idea of me. 
Who we wished I could be. 
I fell in love with the reality of you,
Everything about you, your honesty your truth. 

My idea and your truth, combined and reacted. 
A love over amplified, became anticlimactic. 

I tried. As did you. 
We both failed in our quest. 
Imagination failed the situation. 
Reality, did the rest.
