The Ninth Day

The Ninth Day

Death may come as the ninth draws near

You know not the time, month or year

On that day, what would you do?

If the reaper came looking for you

How do you live knowing that fact?

Would you show courage or would you crack?

A day, a week or several years from now

What would you do with the time allowed?

A string of emotions run through your mind

The rest of your life will be re-defined

Once a month would you hide under the bed?

Or boldly face what lies ahead?

Would you live each day like it was you last?

Or try to right the wrongs from your past

Would you show more sympathy and forgiveness?

The undeserving grace that’s deep within us

Would you live, love and laugh more?

And kick life’s trivial things out the door?

Life with meaning is never resigned

Leave no un-answered questions behind
