Speed multiplied by Distance

MichaelG88

He's 30feet above, looking down.
Out of his body, out of his soul.
Standing tall and proud, on the outside.
Towering over the bridge, holding on tight.

Then Time takes over, full control,
Out stretched,
Let go.

Gravity, dragging & etching.
Seasoned cracks start to show
Reflecting in the eyes as water flows
Take your pound of flesh mothernature
15feet left to go

Picture the headlines printing the shame
"Man let's go, it's a fall from his grace"
Simultaneously showing the source of the pain.
Engineered by the system and Adobe's paint.

Fearing it, dragging & etching,
Seasoned cracks now so clear
Reflecting in the eyes, water is tear.
Take your pound of flesh, take 30 more!
Only 1 foot left to go.

Man's mind's still wretching, it touches his nose,
The body of water ripples down to his toes,
An image of perfection sold by the press
In movies, on posters, all over the net.
He couldn't help feeling the ageing regret.
Speed multiplied by Distance only serves to ferment
Even the crows down the river will walk on the dead.

Face full from the etching of time,
Yes his mind faulters, but he must survive!
He will do it by talking and not hiding away.

Back in the body, as he lifts his aged face,
I'm seeing the water
Ignore his percieved horror,
That's when I see him
Looking back in the mirror.

Fearing it, dragging & etching
Seasoned cracks now so clear
Reflecting in the eyes, water is tear.
Take your pound of flesh, take 30 more!
I tell myself It's not my time to go.
