Love Letter to My Body

IndisClaire

Dear body
I want to tell you I finally love you
The stretch marks on your stomach
I call them my tiger stripes
The scars all over you
I call them reminders
Reminders of a time
Where I did not love you
Did not think you were worthy
Did not want you
That’s all over
Because body
You are beautiful
I use to avoid looking in mirrors
Because they made me wanna cry
But now
I can hardly take my eyes off of you
Body I’m sorry
I’m sorry for all the abuse
I put you through
Body you are gorgeous
Every tummy roll
Every laugh line
Every thing about you
Is stunning
And body I know
I’m not always going to feel this way
There are going to be times
Where I will curse you
And cry over you
But body know
That I don’t mean it
Know I finally love you
And always will
Sincerely yours

HI CLAIRE : Great Poem about self awareness & self respect : love it ! The Good Book says "Love Others as You love Yourself" If we dont love ourselves : Inside & out : Body Mind & Spirit : we cant love anybody else : OK ! Im 30 and in my Prime (Im a PHYSIOTHERAPIST !) and when I look at myself (naked) in full length Mirror it reflects my History ! Scars : irregularities : tatoos but NO strech marks yet (Im getting married at Easter in 2020 !). Right now I love my BODY (inside & out) and I wore my BIKINI today (Im working in New Zealand and its 75 F : middle of Summer !). I only wear a swim suit (one piece) for AQUAROBICS my Clients envy my BODY but they are all "recovering" or a bit obese. Thanks for your Poem ~ a great uplift to all those (including me !) who think they've got something to hide ! Love & Blessings : ANGELA 🧡 I share this site with my Fiance BRIAN (35) please check our Poems : thanks.
