Shards

TheStrongInHeart

The glass shards are all about telling a tale of violence,

Greatly contradicting the eerie silence

I walk about surveying the scene

Looking, gazing for something that cannot be seen

A signal, a glimmer of what it all means.

Tears slip down my cheeks: the shock is too much

I gaze about; I fall into despair’s clutch.

With a heart that is rent, strength that is spent

Falling to my knees, falling into the eerie silence

I become surreal for the shards about me speak.
