You said you’d never hurt me

You said you’d never leave me

You said you’ll always be there for me

You I said I was your everything

You made promises you never intended to keep

You left me

Without a word

Without a goodbye

You broke my heart beyond repair

You took my soul and shattered it

You hurt me like I’ve never been hurt before

Yet I still forgive for you

I still care about you

I still think about you

But

I have to let you go

And by doing so I can move on

So I can be free to love again

Free to be myself again

This seems very personal, very real. You say all the things one would say upon the end of a relationship. You have time in your life to find another love, perhaps the one true one. As you have said you must move on, be free to search for true love.
A very poignant and declarative write. Well done. - Phil A.
