Been Beat Up And Left Alone.

kevin browne

Been beat up and left alone
Nearly dead by my telephone
All the mess still upside down
Stuck in elevators, see me later
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine.
Had my chance, had my dance
Seen psychiatrist, and hypnotist
Drowned in a river, did it kill her
Locked up inside, I did my time
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Upset the Queen, been so mean
Got flogged off, then never seen
Slept on paving slabs, I went mad
Lost my shoes, I'd always lose
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Been pushed from here to there
I didn't' ever find out where
Been hurled upon my wave
With all the love I ever gave
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Lost a fight, I'd thought I might
kissed my sweet girl goodnight
Broke her heart, we fell apart
Get over it, hurt quite a bit
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
I've made such a nasty mess
Suppose it's over I guessed
Been trapped before, it hurt
Been picked up from the dirt
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart is close to mine.
Been pushed from here to there
I didn't' ever find out where
Been hurled upon my wave
With all the love I ever gave
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Situations circumstances
Never thought it lasted
Before the fall I stood tall
Pretty faces recognisable
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart is close to mine
Walked the barricades of love
Gave up on singing too much
Felt the pain I'd hid inside
Runaway, but couldn't hide
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Where's my job, has it gone
Never got on with blondes
Broke my foot, have a look
I'll just be open like a book
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart is close to mine
Reputations change in me
Distinguishably artificially
They'll set sail from the shore
Feeling let down like before
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Records played and lost out
Hospitals, and some holiday
There I found all the doubt
I'd be thinking in some way
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
6ft tall going under, its the time
No blessings for this heart I own
Never thought of being alone
But, there is still in my heart
Where all my rainbows shine
With the reflection of summer
And, her heart close to mine
Strayed a cat, I'm lost like that
Found nowhere to live, I was flat
Baby, don't leave me like this
On the angels' laps, I sit.
