I

Echo Seeker

I'm lost in a wave of apathy,

An endless sea of empty.

If there was a lifeboat,

It's long forgotten,

As the world freezes over.

I once was found.

Once I had a fiery passion.

I made the earth my playground,

Its very being, my entertainment.

Then time announced its presence.

I reached out in desperation,

As life danced by.

At its very closest,

It was just out of my reach.

I loathed its presence.

I was stuck in place,

While my mind screamed to move.

The gridlock ground,

And groaned, and cracked,

And finally broke something.

I think it was important.
