Cold Before Glory

ForeverJesus7

Two more months,
until winter is done.
The hills will turn green.
The roses will come.
Still, the time between now,
and spring is different for some.
For those it will be a while,
before the snow is gone.
It may be bitter cold,
long before March is near.
As because these,
are the two coldest months of the year.
Yes, there are snowstorms.
Sometimes the heater may break,
and for the elderly,
and those with arthritis,
their bones may start to ache.
Still, it is not all bad,
there are fun times too,
such as roasting marshmellows,
building snowmen,
snowball fights,
and plenty of other stuff to do.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is not one of my best pieces, I like it. This poem can be used as a metaphor. Spring represents Heaven, and the green hills and roses represents the glory we will have when we arrive there. January and Febuary represents the time we have on this earth. Although they are the coldest months, some places are colder than others. The colder places represents the hard lives of the few that will make it into Heaven. Those few often have it harder than others. Still, even though times are hard on this earth, there are good times also. Look to the Lord. Persistence is key
