An Afternoon For Songs

An Afternoon For Songs

We heard the sound of song

On a summer breeze

And knew that we belonged

At the music scene

We spread a blanket on the grass

With our cooler full

And the moments we let not pass

With the music wonderfull

We enjoyed the many songs

Of love and love renewed

And we sang along

To all the ones we knew

There were big plastic balls

And frisbees now and then

With fans that we saw

On the shoulders of their friends

And when the music was heard

Fans made it clear

They could relate to the words

And never failed to cheer

And in the final act

The band left the stage

And we whistled and clapped

And they returned and played
