Heartbreak Boulevard

Haydr Zurufi

Love can hurt you they say

Love broke me

It built me up

It made me feel at home

A feeling of home I've never felt

It healed my soul

It took light years to build me up

Then it broke me

Down to my core

Alone I am again

Walking down heartbreak boulevard

Dragging my feet with every step

Hoping to run into you again

Hoping to get a whiff of your smell

Hoping to see that smile I fell in love with

I don't see it in anyone else

I wonder what would've happened if we never crossed paths

If our souls never collided

If you didn't become a piece of me

Like I became a piece of you

I no longer walk down heartbreak boulevard

I crawl down heartbreak boulevard

You were my legs that kept me balanced

Just as much as my heart that kept me alive

I am neither alive

Nor crawling

I am lying on my bed

While my mind walks through memory lane
