Mirrors

Sunshinefalling

I look into my eyes. I say loving things. I say horrible things. Some days I love myself. Others, I abuse myself.

I sacrifice for myself. I sacrifice nothing for myself.

A constant juxtaposition between lover and enemy.

My heart resides in this place.

I see through faces.

But the faces I see, do not see me. They feel and feel nothing for me.

My reflection staring back at me

  • Comment from author about the poem: I listened to this song after writing this poem- an old favorite. It captures the feelings I had while writing this perfectly- being rejected by the damaged when in fact you are one in the same.
