Live To Tell The Tale

Edthepoet

Phonecalls late till 4 or 5
Sending message 3 at a time
Then when we meet we don't shut up
A little push and a little shove

This is me this is my life
Look where I've been look where I've climbed
When we're tired we don't give up
A little kiss and a little touch

3 weeks in to knowing you
I know enough to know
My days are through
Chasing skirt and chasing tail
For you I'll fall, for you I'll fail
For you I'll live
To tell the tail

Heartbeat skips I feel alive
Am I too old for butterflies?
Are you here did I make you up?
A little skill and a little luck

What's in store beyond the pines?
Don't wanna hurt or make you cry
When we're tired life don't let up
A little faith and a little trust

3 years in to knowing you
I've seen enough to know
I'll see this through
Hell it rained and hell it haled
For you I fell, for you I failed
For you I lived
To tell the tail

Yeah, thats a love story told well.

I really like the way you leave things hanging..... the future is just out of reach....
