Blood Moon

poetboy123

Scarlet hues knock on the door

Silence filled by a hollow wind

Amidst such peculiarity, excitement soars

A time impossible to rescind

Eyes greeted by a dull veneer of crimson

Dancing along the streetlights and shadows

Above, a dripping moon has risen

First, consumed by the shadow

Next, consuming maroon wine

Until a raw ruby rests and shines

For a moment, it seems, the whole world takes a breath

No whisper of life on the desert drowning in death

In a moment, all tension pours free

Carmine tinted faces strain to see

The blood moon solemnly stands and stares

Upon the darkened Earth
