A letter to myself

Sierra

A letter to myself

I’m sorry for how I’ve been treating you lately.

I’ve been neglecting the only thing

that hasn’t left my side.

When I get knocked down

you are always there to get me back up.

Every morning

and every night.

You have never failed me,

yet I treat you as you have

because if I had to name off

things that I love

you wouldn’t even come to mind.

Why is it so hard to see the good in you

when you are a masterpiece?

Why do I punish you

for things you can’t control?

Please forgive me

for I will be better,

kinder,

gentler

and more loving

to the only person in the world

who deserves it most.

Yes, dedication to reveal your love to your lover is of most importance to remain in love. Your lover appears to have dealt with a lot, but Ii both of you put more effort in then the quality of life will shine once again.
