Kissing In The Rain

Halo_xx

Kissing in the rain seems so cliché...

Until you're stood in the pouring rain, staring into the eyes of the man you swore you didn't love

And all of a sudden the rain begins to wash away your fears and apprehensions,

And the voice that says "if this goes wrong, you'll ruin your friendship" and "what if he doesn't love you back?'',

Has been drained away by the flood of new emotions.

Your heart stops,

And you're so wet that the rain doesn't make a difference anymore.

You step closer, he mirrors you.

And in the back of your mind, a new voice says "what if he feels the same way, what if he loves you too?"

But these thoughts are interrupted by his hand wrapping itself around your soaked face,

And the feeling of him pulling you closer.

It all happens so quickly, and yet it seemed to be in slow motion.

He stepped closer, so your faces were an inch apart.

He grazed his soft lips against yours and then it happened.

The kiss of a life time with your best friend, the man you secretly loved for years.

And it's perfect.

Better than ever imagined.

The moment lasted forever,

Everything that needed to be said was spoken,

But you break away and soft smiles spread across your blushing faces.

"Lets go dry off"

He says as he takes your hand in his,

And leads you across the grass.

Suddenly kissing in the rain doesn't feel so cliché,

It feels warm and familiar,

Like a distant memory
