A New Nation

arcticwriting

Trapped

Trapped in a world without decision

without safety

without truth

Trapped falling into everlasting destruction

Without a hand hold

Without a bet prepared for our fall

trapped in the border with it’s leader

watching families torn apart

watching abandoned children seek for safety

Trapped with the moon falling closer to my eyes

with the coral disintegrating in my hands

with the snow melting with each step into the future

trapped with the lies told by our superiors

The melting snow watering down the devistation of our world

watering down the pain of our peers

trapped within the limitations of our mind

with the ability to FIGHT

with the ability to rise a new nation.

  • Comment from author about the poem: As a young adult, I feel as if I cannot end the situation our county is enduring. This poem is saying that we can change this soon if we just get together and fight.
