And, now that her web has webbed and spun
A spiderman who was sometimes totally gone
And, in return, there was a leading man of art
She sparked his eye and fell in love at the start
Though the spider was deadly
An anti-venom in such directly
The sting had stung quite badly
My red-back Rosie Lee.
She paced the fields, she walked for miles too
Alone wondering if each step is the thing to do
The lakes she swam. the naked body of a lust
When the bakers' boy tuned up thinking he must
Though she wants quietly
She's like a jumbo jet
Cruising through the sky
My airborne Rosie Lee.
Upon a hammer, anvil and the shape of a grip
The Blacksmith watched her bend over for a tip
But, though her Victorian attire was nice n dandy
And, every man in the village turned up randy
Though she thought not of he
Still smiled like baby Bambi
And, when she said innocently
So sweet My Rosie Lee.
Then, so it came along the day she had decided
To blush when she does in full view of his shyness
With redness of face therein where was her place
By the poker table where she kept on losing grace
Though she fought every penny
She lost the lot, now without any
And, offered to sell herself out
Money lost me my Rosie Lee.
Now it's such blame when she went on the game
Her heart dried beating like a star burning flame
Down dark alleys where men would roam on fire
Until the Devil lifted his head and called her a liar
Though she showed devilishly
A temperament in a callously
Where Sharks and Tigers play
My Dangerous Rosie Lee.
Time is running short for her to find who she wants
Where lovers are they'll see her old horrid haunts
With a dungeon smiling from walls of lock and key
And when winters are passing slowly by she'll see
Though being quite cagey
Her heart paused for a stop
If whether she'd won or lost
In my Locked up Rosie Lee.
In every city, every minute of every day and year
Came along a wandering fellow who saw her tear
She stayed in Motels, hotels, and living life of hell
One day, I myself, yes me, heard her scream a yell
Though I'd thought it's me
Whom she'd like to see
With my buck passed on
To my desperate Rosie Lee.
But, in refrain to her fading stars in her brightness
I still beyond belief it was me she had a likeness
Questioning the idea of someone who you've loved
Answering a possibility to applause it's not enough
Though she saw serenity
In everything thing done
Now she thinks it's wrong
My shining Rosie Lee.
But, in despair, she did respond to my lovers' note
She left me her number then added a few quotes
I beg I differ from what she has always been like
Hearts be fonder floating around being treated right
Though sometimes identically
We'd feel content irreversibly
Flowers growing everywhere
All around my Rosie Lee.
A child is born upon the eve of Christmas morning
If love speaks up itself don't let it become boring
Now a family in hand after travelling a million miles
Love me dear to reveal another thousand smiles
Though my girl was naughty
The thought of it was guilty
Oh, how times have changed
For me and my Rosie Lee.
