Your cat on my lap, he's happy to nap
I scratch his back as I happily rap
I speak of the kitty
I say something witty
to someone I've come to because she's so pretty
I wonder just what makes her want to be sitting
next to me, giving
me company, list'ning
What must she want from me? Nothing
Just living amongst who she loves
What a wonder I'm winning
But what's that? I'm buzzed
off the scene that I'm dreaming
It must be I leave when I'm drunken on
love's lean against me, because I was just
in this loveseat, just me, now I'm seeing
a deep love amidst me;
it creeps up to kiss me
I leap up in bliss, she
gives me a grin 'cross my lips
and again, 'cross my eyelids pressed closed,
behind which I'm lost;
my mind's eye glossy and dim,
my head swimming.
Again, I come to
Just your kitty who's with me;
a friend always true
to remind me that your love may always be with me
it's whiskers against me
tick'ling me tender as my love for you
