The Beige Jacket

I wake up in the morning,
and check the weather.
Then I reach,
for my plain beige jacket.
As I poor my hot coffee,
I notice that,
the room is freezing,
but at least I have on,
my plain beige jacket.
I eventually go outside,
to check the mail
in -- ----- ------.
You may not know my face.
I may not be very loud,
but because of,
my plain beige jacket,
I'll always stand out,
in a crowd.
So as the night comes,
I have dinner,
in my plain beige jacket.
Then finally,
I come back home,
ready for bed,
after I hang back up,
my plain beige jacket.

I see Him every DAY
In a shop doorway with DOG
I see Him on my WAY
To work ~ a daily daily SLOG
To earn a crust ~ OK
My Flat does not allow a DOG
I give him £3 from my PAY
For BIG ISSUE and some GROG
Its cold outside TO DAY
His life is such a bitter SLOG
And SNOW is on its WAY
I give him some MEAT BALLS for the DOG
And tell HIM I will PRAY
His overcoat is 50 Shades of GREY
Like HIM its seen a better DAY ~ AMEN
As CHRISTIANS we are exhorted NOT to
pass by on the oher side but to CARE !

  • Comment from author about the poem: This piece that I had written is for the lonely people that no one ever seems to see or care about. They think that they are forgotten, but they are not. Jesus loves you. Persistence is key
