Chasing

chasing lies and laxity, 

dread followed those highs: deadness.

fertile fields my sovereignty, 

spoiled by a drunken redness.

 

street smart and known, ignorance

kept me from ever knowing;

i called it a hinderance

and found it’s Love that’s chasing.
