Sweat driven by heaven’s fiery heat
Making heads its sweltering seat
Dampness sapping strength from flesh
Mouths agape to keep one fresh
Pouring from pores, floods of sweat
Cooling bodies all soaking wet
Alas, solely water will quench such thirst
Downed in the tummy to slake it fast
No coke nor wine, nor milk nor beer
No nectar or juice will steer it clear
Eyes now calm, demeanors poised
Breathing easy, tempers buoyed
Unrivaled relief after water’s drunk
Feeling content, for life’s simple dunk
Peace prevails, thirst now fully sunk
Lives transformed all in a blink
Simply guzzling, life giver’s drink
Till next thirst, skirting the brink
What of thirst for knowledge,
Lusting for rite of passage?
…To wisdom’s eternal spring
Planting seeds of learning
Fending off the rape of essence
By toxic bouts of ignorance
Info, info everywhere
All the brains did shrink
Info, info all beware
Not a thought did sink
Wisdom like silk to wear
Adorning all who dare think
Shunning sources whose task
To hasten our talent’s decay
enmeshing us in trash
Leaving folks in disarray
Blinding us to ambient grace
Nature’s gifts ‘n boundless solace
Come drink with me from love’s spout
To marry love with wisdom’s clout
Love’s thirst seeded by self-abandon
Quenched by empathy ‘n compassion
Giving selflessly, wanting zilch back
Let love prevail, forever its thirst to whack
Together we grow, in wisdom and love
Cores swelling, filling a growing universe
Soaring thru’ heavens like winged doves
Beauty abounds, silent prose and verse
Godlike embraces await us in peace
Drinking freely from life and love’s kind truce
