What Will Happen If .... II
02/06/2019

The human species disappeared

The scars left on its surface
And the deep cuts in its belly
Man made structures untended
And mass rape of its valleys
Will be healed by the specie
That allowed others to survive
Though it itself was tortured
By uncontrolled greed and drive

Left behind those timid species
Bred for food and pleasure
Will soon succumb to predators
For no longer pampered as treasure
Those that were caused to go extinct
Regrettably, can no longer be revived
The only solace one can muster,
Those left behind, multiply and survive

Towering structures and machines
Caused by bleeding the land
Show as pock marks on the surface
Over time devoured, where they stand
Left behind also those petro-products
That will take eons to disintegrate
Being absorbed in soils and oceans
Causing survivors pain to regenerate

Choking gases will immediately cease
Giving survivors a chance and comfort
While the imprint of humans left behind
Eventually crumbling to dust and dirt
As Earth, instantaneously starts to heal
It's amazing, a tiny specie called man,
Even as new eco-system come into play
Caused such destruction, in short span

Earth will instantaneously start to heal
Surviving species taking only their need
And eventually balance will be restored
As future be devoid of man and greed

you raise a very interesting question Suresh... I am sure many have considered the what if's you refer to .... I have certainly considered it/them myself... I do so hope the selfish stranglehold that man has had held will be released and that some kind of peaceful balance will pervade...... Neville

Thank you for understanding, I have commented below

    • Fay Slimm.

The human species is well on its way to its own demise and if things are not altered the future's not bright - - a fine piece of writing Suresh which boldly engages a reader's attention to needs on this globe we call earth.

Many eons ago, I equated humans as cancerous cells. The parallels being:
-that as we become resistant to what nature throws at us - as the cells mutate to survive treatments,
-we are becoming more proficient in destroying our planet - as the cancer destroys the cells it occupies
        - and now we want to spread humanity to other planets - as cancer travels from cell to cell
        - humans are microbes in this universe - as we are the universe for the cancerous microbe.
In this respect, I am ashamed to be of the human race.
