Disorientate

SerenWise

I would only lay down for an instant

But in waking everything

Is different...

There is so much I do not know

And so much I try not to imagine.

To feel a blade slicing my skin

Would be so sweet,

To watch the beads of crimson

Collect, like jewels

From a broken crown.

Every moment hurts,

And I stare at your photograph

To feel some relief,

But knowing that it cannot last;

Or drive away my nightmares

Of a convoluted past.
