Should Have Listened

shadows

Dad I know you did it

You grabbed her by her hair

Thrown against the wall

How do you find this fair

When the sky came crashing down

I stood by your side

Believed every word

Oh how you so convincingly lied

By the police

I was questioned

Sister I am sorry

Perhaps I should have mentioned

Dad gets this way

Anger overcomes his being

Just like today

Or the day he spoke of Ian
