Stay Woke

Cindy Guenard

She steady starts to lose focus

All this gossip and the rumors,

Flaming tensions building up,

But she don't let madness consume her,

She's got a future bright ahead,

And one more stomach to feed,

Prison life's a last resort,

And not a one that she should lead,

She keeps her fingers on the grind,

With some coffee in her cup,

Checks her email time to time,

Tries not to wake the puppy up,

She made a vow to herself to always be that little hope,

The canine world's greatest quote,

And in her words,

To stay woke
