High School Days

High School Days

Coaches taught the nerds

But always treated them fair

And they got what they deserved

Just like the brainy acts there

Pep rallies were the best

When everyone would cheer

With a break from all the tests

And academic atmosphere

At type writers there were many

Pecking at the keys

And there were jocks aplenty

Trying their best to succeed

Athletes wore their letter jackets

And muscle cars were good

And after football practice

Were jobs sacking goods

And when there were holidays

We worked hard and slept

And exercised some every day

With the time we had left

School would always start again

With a lot of homework assigned

And we knew way back then

Gone was Christmas time
