The Path

Stormer551

The path isn’t always a yellow brick road,

The path isn’t always a highway to where you’re going,

The path isn’t a straight line.

The path twists,

The path turns,

The path flips,

The path will turn you around if you let it.

You must follow the north star,

Follow the star that led your fathers before you,

Follow the star,

Follow the star.

The Darkness stirs around you,

It always stirs,

Never stray from the lights,

The lights all around you,

You just got to light the flame,

The flame we all have.

You must follow the north star,

Follow the star that led your people,

Follow the star,

Follow the star.

Everyone has their stories,

Everyone has their struggles,

Everyone has their fears,

The path takes you through them all.

What is your path,

Is it set in stone,

Or is it ours to choose?

Is there such a thing as destiny,

Or do we create our own future?

Believe what you want,

Because that’s what takes you through the right path,

Because he knows the end.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I just felt it needed to be written. So many people are lost to darkness; they lose the path, they lose the light. It's time to relight the flames, the people around are lost we have to help them be found.

Loud applause for this light to finding more pathways toward the flame of self-confidence. and creating a future without fear or regret.

A hopeful notion yet sometimes the journey out of darkness seems so much harder than looking for the light.
