Poets Save Me

SerenWise

Only the stars

Are still here with me,

While the glittering lights of port

In this strange town,

Wink deceitfully.

Even the moon

Is nowhere to be seen,

Like a mother

Who no longer loves me.

Music is my only comfort,

The softest tones

And pliant voices,

Presenting an array of choices,

While art and poetry

Are the only things to fill the hole,

The gaping void

Within my soul.
