A steady stream of meaningful words
Flowing from a broken heart
A steady stream of salty tears
Falling relentlessly an ache apart.
As each new day dawns a new start a new day
As the sun chases the sky.
I drag my body from the bed
All my strength not to cry.
You let me love you
And then you let me go.
You let me fall, hard
How was I to know.
Every word said to me
No more than a lie
Every kiss every moment
A cruel disguise.
Plans never meant to be
Moments never to be shared
Empty kisses, empty caresses
You never really cared.
I believed you, I loved you
I’m left with such doubt
Will I ever really know
What ‘we’ were about?

I see a lost love here, but I also see some poetic ability. "Falling relentlessly an ache apart." I thought this was a brilliant line and it grabbed me .Thus I enjoyed your sad poem of misplaced love and hope to read more from you. - Phil A.
Love IS love and when it falls apart it doesn't mean that there was never love present or that everything which was said is lies..... thats an immature way to deal with life. Face up to it, most love affairs go wrong.... only a few last a lifetime.... we have to have failures before we achieve success. Do not devalue the love you have experienced by saying it was all lies or you will never be able to trust in love again.... just accept that it didn't work out this time.
WELCOME PURDY : Thanks for your first Poem ! A very elegant 24 lines replete with Rhythm and Rhyme in every other line : beautiful ! BUT a very sad experience ! I have had experiences similar to yours. My MANTRA is "Better to have Loved & Lost than never to have Loved at all !" I learned something from my Failed Relationships but more from my sweet ones. Men can be very fickle in Love Affairs as your POEM SAYS ! "You let me LOVE you : And then you let me go : You let me fall hard !" Ive had experiences like that : but I have recovered and it made me stronger in later liaisons.
I am a Professional PHYSIOTHERAPIST and that can be a barrier in finding a Partrner : BRIAN is also a SCIENTIST (and a Lover of things Spanish : My PAPA is Spanish) so we had lots in common which has led to Pure Love : AMEN !
Blessings for the Future : You will find this a very empathetic and suportive site :
