Burning Bridge

cutelilcardinal

I know I must be wary

The connection is newly fixed

But if either of us makes one wrong move

Then one of us breaks the bridge

Everything is fine

I feel no pressure

Until you tell me something

That changes my views forever

And just like that

A new flame sparks

While I feel rage

Once again take my heart

I watch the smoke rise

While my trust in you falls

I realize shortly after

The connection was never remedied at all

The bridge has always been burning

And the fire will never cease

So go ahead and leave with them

You’re unknowingly giving me release
