Misery Without Company

asrealastheycome

Yeah, we all struggle
Got moments hopin we won’t crumble
I never let my misery love company
I share troubles but there’s a deeper battle buried under me
Though, I smile on the surface doin what’s expected
Camouflage my hurtin workin to fix my imperfections
Obsessin over my shoulder and the chip that seems permanent
I search the globe to erode and decompose what this burden is
This I suppress nevertheless the conflict is internal
Nocturnal, so under the moon I put my words into a journal
so a piece of me forever remains eternal

Great flow and twist on the phrase misery loves company. I never understood that phrase nor believed it to be true.

In fact I find the only real company for my misery is my secret words.

    You turned misery into hope.
