The Bare Minimum (+2)

Kurt Philip Behm

The minimum standard defining a man

 —taking care of his family

The minimum standard defining a woman

  —taking care of her man

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

Grandparenting

Becoming totally involved

  —keeping your opinions to yourself

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2016)

Almighty Silence

Poetry…

Conduit

Of the truth

Speaker

Of the almighty

Silence

Last synapse

Of a feeling

Lost

Nerve ending

Of a forgotten

Dream

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2016)

Stigmata

Wringing feelings

Like a sponge…

The words dripped down

My lips

Onto the page

  —staining my soul

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2016)

The Bare Minimum is not being SUBSERVIENT to anybody, and taking care of yourself FIRST.

    • Kurt Philip Behm

This is not about being subservient, that's why I used the word minimum.
It's a visceral time honored concept...

      Kurt,

      ā€œThe Bare Minimumā€...indeed!
The pendulum swings both ways without missing a beat!

      Super writes!
      All to my liking!
      Very hard to choose...
      but I am leaning toward
      ā€œStigmataā€!

      ~Laura~
