my life is constantly drowning me

elmina

i wish i could breathe the oxygen around us,

but every breath i take,

and every move i make,

i find myself being submerged inch by inch into the cool, rolling ocean,

entoxicating my lungs with salty sea water,

flaring my nostrils in burns of lost breath,

with washing waves of reality hitting one by one.

Excellent piece! Similar theme to my piece called The Waves of Withdrawal! Definitely a favourite!
