In Spite Of Ourselves (+4)

Kurt Philip Behm

 What if God is the

 Universe

Not something separate

 and distinct

But the Universe

 itself

Eliminating the dual

 notions

Of Creation and

  Intelligent Design

Insuring our divinity

 as part of the whole

Insuring our divinity

 —in spite of ourselves

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

A Buffet Of Hate

Blood was toasted

 in a buffet of hate

A violent main course

 —whose dessert was death

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

A Gray Dawn

The gray dawn slaughters

the promise of spring
—with a desperate last goodbye

Its poisonous haze mocks
a sky forsaken
—with the sun again denied

Its blanket lowers
in a shroud of judgment
—its verdict darkly stained

To deluge its exit
in torrents of thunder
—as the light reflects in vain

(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2016)

Madre

One vision

 one name

Two words

  —Grand Canyon

(Desert View Arizona: February, 2019)

Samsara

The discovery of Man

  —a genesis reborn

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

I would have to agree to your previous statement, the four of these were slightly less obscure than normal and honestly it's a nice touch. Still thought provoking and a ravishing read. On a side note, short poetry often holds much power in it. Well done once again Kurt.

    Thanks again, Nicholas.
