My 2019

Lionheart

Most people start their new year with something positive, you know the story that’s about to be told is something negative, kind of obvious, woke up in a police station confused, officer please tell me exactly what did I do, you were involved in a hit and run accident, found you in your bedroom assuming you were drunk with no evidence, the vehicle I drove wasn’t mine but my friends, after seeing the damage I knew that relationship had end, the thought of what happened made my mind and body weak, walked past each other for days and didn’t speak, talked about everyday when I went to work, one Sunday I woke up with a phone call that said get dressed we going to church, just when I thought things were getting better and built up some courage, that court day came that really got me discouraged, me and the Mrs. went and sat in the courtroom, hoping and praying my name gets called soon, the judge calls me forward Sir how do you plead, the judge looked at me crazy when I said not guilty, well since the cop is not here to speak we have to extend to a later date, so that meant another month I was going to have to wait, the next date came before the judge I stood, the cops testimony the judge never understood, found in my bedroom on my floor passed out, couldn’t stand up so they carried me out, the judge asked well if you thought he was drunk why doesn’t the report reflect, he could have had a concussion after hitting a brick object, he never received medical treatment so how would you know, in my mind I’m thinking these charges are about to go, thinking everything is gonna be just fine, the judge still found me guilty and have to pay these fines, two years probation is better than being in a cell doing time, I could sit up here mad and from the world I could hide but I took the time to really look at the brighter side, I still have a job and still in good health, some of this might suck but it’s the hand I’ve been dealt, my pastor said if you trust in God he will pull out of any problem in the end, I might have had a rough start but this is not how I will let this year end
