Puppy Love

lonelyraccoon

I'd follow you into hell

I hope you know that

Because where I've been is something I won't forget

I want you to know

If I follow you in your dark days

It'll be heaven to me

Because being with you

Is proof that I deserve nice things

Our hand inter clasped

Our eyes on each other

Walking in the halls with you

When the background fades

It's you and me

The peace is so heavy

I could be walking on a beach

Just as long as you're by my side

Who knew I could break my habits

If you know best

I will follow you

We will be equal

And I can rest my head on your shoulder

I can cry in your arms

My daytime nightmares still haunt me

I can't forget those memories so let's make some new ones

If you know what's best

I'm yours

I can't run away

You're something I want

Our love is guilt-free

If you know what's best

Then see my pain, knowing you can't erase it

Just hold me, no need to correct my mistakes

This is what I know

And it's just 3 words all my fast-paced thoughts come down to

I love you

  • Comment from author about the poem: Most the times I write my poems I have a slight idea of what I want to do, like a phrase I'll put as the title and write based around those words, most the time it changes and sometimes I name it after, and with this poem I just have my boyfriend on my mind because lately forgetting my exes have become a more recent issue again but I'll just look at him and I feel foolish and grateful. This relationship is so different from what I expected before, I just love him so much because I finally respect myself and he respects me. These are the days I won't forget for a good reason.

This was brilliant and well done for not assuming we are all the same, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story.
