How about we spend some time just accepting and living in harmony with our planet 'as it is' rather than trying to 'seek' and 'improve'.
Maybe living in harmony with planet earth is the one jewel we are truly ignorant of. And so we remain in the abyss.

But?..... enlighten me.... i live in harmony as much as poss... still having interests, hobbies, running my own business and fun...... what else? starting wars?...exploring the universe?.... wondering why so many people worship a god who is so cruel to humanity?...... inventing weapons of mass destruction? mind you i will agree we should research into finding cures for the cruel ailments which plague mankind and other life forms.
"DO OUR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES AND HOW DO WE ACCOUNT FOR THEM?" In here lies the secret of birth and re-birth and once one reaches a conclusion, we find ourselves back at square one.
We, humans, have advanced beyond just the need to survive, and have conquered our environment, to the extent that we have the power to create or annihilate. This power comes from our analytical intelligence, a product of our ability to independently and individually exist, (we have partaken from the Tree of Knowledge). The same intelligence pleads us to be inquisitive, to know the root cause and reason for our existence.
If we are to believe that we are just a whim of a creator, as all the scriptures enforce, then we are no more than a puppet, and our analytical intelligence has no meaning. Otherwise, I MUST FIND THE REASON FOR MY BEING AND THE PURPOSE OF MY EXISTENCE!
SELF REALIZATION is realizing for SELF, acceptance through thorough understanding.
There is so much more here, but I shall stop now. More than anxious to be challenged or add to my enlightenment.
WAR is a product of GREED, and HARMONY an individual sanity pod. In the midst of the former, we seek solace in the latter - that's all.

Buddhism and Jainism have extensively drawn on Sankhya, in deriving their own philosophies.
God is a personal belief, a need for an external strength and a moral compass, but blind faith is the harbinger of extreme fanaticism and contrary to intelligent existence. His nature remains elusive, and validation controversial.
