Our Family Lake
It was a special lake
Where we camped sometimes
And it relaxed us those days
With fresh air and sunshine
At the lake there was wildlife
Including deer and hogs
And beavers we'd see sometimes
Building their dam with logs
There was a cabin too
Where we got our sleep
And where we cooked our food
When it was time to eat
There were also boats there
That the adults sometimes used
And we fished everywhere
For a fish fry soon
Sometimes we went exploring
On bright sunny days
With not a second boring
As we hiked the time away
There was an old cedar tree
Growing near the lake
And a picnic table underneath
Was where we always ate
We left the lake each time
With smoke in our hair
And each year we opined
The experience beyond compare
