Liberating The Truth (+4)

Kurt Philip Behm

With each tick of the second hand

 the immeasurable on trial

Imagination deposed

 all parameters set free

The Poets acquitted

 the logicians suicidal

All reference and syntax

 —imploding at light speed

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

The Takeover

The fences and billboards

 disappear in the sanctum

As theory is abandoned

 —and true knowledge takes hold

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

Magdalena

Magdalena,

 your beauty known

Magdalena,

 your wisdom shown

Magdalena,

 firm and steadfast

Magdalena,

 communed repast

Magdalena,

 so loved a man

Magdalena,

 his blood in hand

Magdalena,

 though history scolds

Magdalena,

 your heart withholds

Magdalena,

 much more than friend

Magdalena,

 —the truth contends

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

Interdiction

Poetry…

 arresting the mundane

 acquitting the spirit

Convicting

  all redundancy

   —freeing the truth

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

Loves Denial

When you split the beam and the splintered edge

 is all you’re left with

The only one you’ve outsmarted

 is yourself

A prisoner of your severed choice

 and schizophrenia

The victim of your hearts defeat

 —and loves denial

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2019)

    Kurt,

    Great poems once again!
    I enjoyed them very much!
Of the four, my favorite is Magdalena!

Thanks Laura, Mary Magdalene is one of my favorite inspirations.

Even as a kid in Catholic School, I never bought into the Nuns depiction of her. I always knew she was moreā€”much more!

I believe Leonardo got her right in his painting of 'The Last Supper,' where she was seated at Jesus' right hand.

        Yes, indeed...
A few years ago, I had the honor of seeing Leonardoā€™s painting of ā€˜The Last Supperā€™ in Milan! An indescribable experience!
