Recalibrate
Regret - feel sad, repentant, or disappointed over something that has happened or been done, especially a loss or missed opportunity
- Wouldn’t it be great if I didn’t care what people think
Wouldn’t it be great if i gave my opinion on everything
- Wouldn’t it be great if I told the whole truth
Wouldn’t it be great if i said what i thought about you
- Wouldn’t it be great if i acted like a man
Wouldn’t it be great if you’d hold my hand
- Wouldn’t it be great if i could write a song
Wouldn’t it be great if you sang along and we found out where we belong
- Wouldn’t it be great if i was me
Wouldn’t it be great if i remembered how to believe
- Wouldn’t it be great if i could meet you all over again
I would stay quiet so we may stay undisturbed friends
- Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t call me your brother as i said i wanted to be your lover
But all this did happen so i will lay on this hill alone until school is done and over

A number of reasons for feeling defeated yet the read holds out hope that having now spoken things in the world of romance would do a U turn.. Thanks for your own comment too Theta - that we dont have to be sad to write about sadness.
