My Name

seeker123

I’ve never quite liked the way my name appears on paper.

The four little letters

Containing an entire entity,

An identity;

One that seems so small an obsolete

When all I have is four little letters

Printed in black ink,

To state who I am.

    Names are fascinating. Like you say, it's an entire identity. Crazy thing is, we don't really get a say in the matter, except if you choose to change it. Usernames on the other hand... Great poem that's got me thinking.

      Thank you and your right I never really thought of it as a decision you get no part in but that’s true and so either you grow into your name or you don’t and so then you can change your name into something you fit in with or identify with
