Only Child

SerenWise

The howling wind and the ocean only

Know how much I love you.

Each day without your words is pain,

I wish time and time again to know

What it is that I have done,

To create such sorrow.

Mother, you're moving on from us,

Creating yourself a new life

Free from the burden of husband and child,

But I am listening all the while,

And wishing that you still cared for me.

One day, I hope, you'll come back,

And I'll be waiting with open arms,

For no matter how deep your knife

Plunges into my heart,

I'll still cross the world for you,

And be ready for our new start.
