Waiting

Jenny Wren

You called me

You called to me while I slept

I woke to come to you

I came to you

I am here before you

Waiting...

Do you want me still?

Why did you call me?

What did you want me for?

I am waiting

Blinded by your light, but cannot return to the dark; to sleep

I am waiting

For you

To remember why you called me to you

To love me like you did before

A poignancy flows through these lines Jennny -- so telling the message left in this admirable write.

  • Nafis Light

It has both meaning and longing,
It is something I could relate myself with
    but I'm not going to
because I lost the point in waiting.

Welcome JENNY ~ Thanks for your first Poem. LOVE is very powerful ~ Im 35 now and I too have experienced a longing love for someone I had loved & lost ! I heard them calling in a variety of ways and longed to be loved AGAIN as I was before ! I am now in a stable relationship with Angela ~ with whom I share this site. We plan to be married in ESSEX April 2020 ! She is in New Zealand until November on a Work Exchange ! Since I met Angela I no longer hear voices from the PAST ~ AMEN !

    Thanks for all the comments.
I can only really write when I’m down, so unfortunately, most of my poems are a bit maudlin.
It’s ok though, I find writing them cathartic and healing. 🙂
