Why I Choose My Poetic Side?

Nafis Light

I came to the realization

that poetry is not just an interest;

That poetry is not just a hobby

and not just something for people to see.

I want to and I know I could

use poetry as my voice,

A voice that does more than just an expression,

but also help others in ways of liberation.

So I am here

because it is of no use

if it is not shared;

If it is not read.

That's why I do my best

to make mine be blessed

and capable of helping

anyone who is willing to take a reading.

I choose Love and Laughter

because that seem to fit The Joker;

Other blessings might be in

but only on a whim.

----

With Blessings, Love and Laughter,

J44

  • Comment from author about the poem: It was several hours ago, I was wondering about what to post here...and I thought that this is a community, and in a way...we gotta be honest if we do want to get along. So this poem is to be honest about why I chose this website. It's not about contest or anything like that, but to have others read and when do...they do benefit and feel better from it (however way it may be). It's like helping others through poetry...but the key is that it has to be shared and be read.

    Definitely No competition here
    Just expressing what we feel
    Art is freely showing the soul
    As you did in this wonderful flow

  • Fay Slimm.

    Love and Laughter come first with me too - what better way could our lives here be spent than enjoying the feeling of love and smiling at all that we can.
    -- giving love's feeling to others is an admirable reason to write my friend.
